Wicked Day!

on February 9, 2010

I was going to include this in my recap of last week, but I figured… there’s kind of a lot of pictures so maybe I’ll just make it it’s own post :).

So I saw Wicked for the 4th time on Wednesday. I was trying to get tickets for Sunday or Saturday since Sunday was Patty Duke (Madame Morrible) and Eddy (Boq)’s last day but the tickets I wanted for those two days were sold out so I just settled for Wednesday, besides, I’ve never seen Teal Wicks as Elphaba, so I figured, why not.

Once again, we were almost late. We tend to do that a lot! And our usual parking lot was full so we had to park across the street. We made it in time though, with literally one minute to spare. Thank goodness! The show was amazing as always, Eddy did really well as Boq and it made me sad that he’s leaving. I love how Patty screams all the way behind Nessarose when Elphaba introduces herself hehe.

Husband and I skipped eating cause we were running out of time so we were pretty hungry by intermission. Got both M&M’s and Famous Amos cookies (which btw are delicious, I forgot how delicious) oh and used the bathroom. Everyone commented on my little witch hat :). Tweeted Nicolas and Neka literally right before the curtain went up (wasnt aware) and I was like “aw, they didnt see it” cause they were on stage LOL!

Teal. I loved her acting. I loved the way she mocked Glinda (who was played by Natalie that day and I LOVED Natalie as Glinda, she looked like she was not holding back at all! She was really fun to watch) and there was another part of hers that I loved, I forgot what but Vicki is still my favorite Elphie! Husband disagrees with me, he loved Teal as Elphie lol.

After the show, of course we headed down to Stage Door. In fact, we were the first ones there lol.

Nicolas came out first and he was signing peoples Playbills and he saw me and he was like “HEY ZEL!” and I was surprised he remembered me by name! Chatted for a bit and took a picture. He also commented on how much he liked my hat lol.

The wonderful and talented Patty Duke and I! She’s so tiny up close! I was like “I heard you’re leaving!!” and she nodded and I was like “whyyy?” and she responded “you gotta go home sometime!” aww we’ll miss you Patty!

Natalie and I! My new favorite Glinda, except sadly her last day was Sunday too :(. I actually thought she was Nessarose when I saw her. I feel dumb! Haha. But I’m glad to had met her either way :).

Neka and I! She plays ensemble and the witch’s mother. She came out looking for Nicolas and she looked at me and I looked at her and I didnt know if it was her or not… so I ran up to her, poked her and said “are you Neka?” and she was like “are you…. zel?” haha it was weird but funny. So husband and I chatted with her for awhile, he snitched on Nicolas walking off with two other girls lol. She’s really friendly and really cool to talk to! And she really took the time to talk to us, it was really nice! She also mentioned that her and Nicolas were planning on coming out together to say hi to me, awww!

Then Nicolas comes back after Neka heads back inside and I’m talking to my husband and he comes up and pokes me and I dont see him and I’m like “ah! who’s poking me!” and Nick asked if Neka came out to say hi and the husband mentions he snitched on him walking off lol!

I love how this poster stretches all the way down to Stage Door!

After Wicked, we went to Bay Street and I got my Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows (goodness that’s a long name)!!! It’s really nice and spiffy and Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies and all but… I dont think $53 is worth it. That’s  a lot of money! I havent played around with it yet and I’m kinda glad I returned all my other Urban Decay palettes last year so I dont really have these colors. But I’ll do a review once I play with it some more!

And that was my day :).

Oh, I love Wicked! I’ve never gotten a chance to see it on stage, none of the theatres in my area have put it on. But I can’t get enough of the books XD That is an awesome hat, be tee double you.

It’s AMAZING on stage! It does differ from the book. I havent read the book yet but there are love triangles in the musical that arent in the book. But its really great! I hope you get to see it soon :)!
