Colder nights and sweeter candles.

The nights are getting colder and just to make things more interesting, we run the fan. I love absolutely bone chilling cold nights! Wrapping myself up in my big blanket and curling into a ball. It’s something I look forward to every year.

The room (as well as my room) is still a big huge mess and I know I should deal with that soon, perhaps tonight. If I’m feeling like it. I’m tired of seeing the clutter, but I just… ugh. Sometimes I hate cleaning cause I honestly just don’t know where to begin. I just have so much stuff! I still have 3 boxes waiting to be unpacked and I just don’t have the room to store everything. I wish I had labeled them or something cause some of my winter clothes (why I brought winter clothes to Florida is beyond me) is in one of the boxes, I just don’t really know which one.

I’m reading two books right now both of which need to be finished and reviewed like, yesterday. Awesome right? My Halloween challenge is being a pain in the ass. I could had done better, but my mind was MIA for a week and I was just all over the place. I need to get situations in check and realize that certain things will never happen no matter what is said.

I’m outlining my NaNoWriMo project. But even with a guide, I still don’t know what the eff I’m doing. I wonder if any author really knows what the eff is going on the whole time or do they just wing some scenes and hope that it comes out epic? I’ve got a good base for the beginning, I just have to somehow make it un-cliche. I think that’s the hardest part since I’m not creative unless I sit and think and wait until inspiration hits. Maybe I’ll just wing it and word vomit and hopefully something epic will spring up somehow. It’s better to try than to not try at all.

Husband is working on his animation, it must be epic cause he’s been ignoring me for last hour and a half. Dammit, I forgot I had to prep my posts for next week on both my review and book blogs too, gah. I’m itching for Monday so I see how much money I have left after paying the bills, I really really want to read Demonglass. The sequel to Hex Hall. No idea why I waited so long to read this book. Holy shiz it was entertaining! I’m also looking forward to Destined but I told myself no books for October, so many I’ll wait until November. Which isn’t that far away. I was thinking of writing a greek myth re-telling, but I think I’ll focus on my current re-telling before starting another (which requires much much more research). I have a few other started WIP’s floating around, not sure where they’re going but better to write down scenes that pop up in my head then to lose them, right?

I’ve been really liking this new camera app I found for Droid. As much as I really want an iPhone and Siri, I’ll miss using a Droid and all my apps.

Cold weather, I’m ready for you (:

One short day, with so much to do…!

Autumn is here, or well, it’s suppose to be… it was raining and freezing last week. This week it’s like, high 80′s. It’s ridiculous. Give me back the cold and rain! Mostly because when it’s hot, like this and there’s no A/C, I’m most likely to do nothing but complain.

October is half way done and that’s just insane to think about. I’ve only read two books from my Halloween challenge (out of 12) but that’s because I needed to squeeze in review books too, I’m on my pretty much last review book for the month from Amazon but it’s a thick one. Hopefully I get done with it before the next Vine email comes around. I have two for publishers that need to be done, one that needs to be done by the end of this month and one that’s for next month. Then there’s NaNoWriMo creeping up in two weeks, I’ve toyed with my idea and wrote a bit down, but not enough to ensure a smooth sail for NaNoWriMo this year. Oh well, I’m still hoping! I think that’s it as far as bookish things for the next month or so.

Unlimited… my future is unlimited…

Fall is hands down one of my favorite season’s. Not just because it’s pretty much my “new year” or when I’m the most energetic, but it also reminds me of Wicked the musical and this pretty lady.

[ via Google ]

In September of 2009 I saw Wicked for the first time. Then in October 2009 I saw it again for a second time after attending Behind The Emerald Curtain (and meeting Nicolas Dromard). It wasn’t until Janurary of 2010 that I saw it for a third time and pretty much every month after that until they closed in September of 2010. By the time they closed, I saw the musical 12 times, attended Behind The Emerald Curtain 2 times, had the pleasure of going backstage once and made friends with a few of the cast members, some of who I still talk to today (I also saw it twice while I was living in Orlando, FL but they weren’t the same cast from San Francisco).

I didn’t know it that cold September afternoon, but Wicked was going to change my life. Because of Wicked I went to my first audition for a commercial. I didn’t get it, but it was an amazing experience. For the first time in my life, I wasn’t nervous standing up there in front of a ton of people I didn’t know. I was the most confident I had ever been.

I’m sad that Wicked is no longer in San Francisco since every fall I want to pay another visit to Oz, but I am happy to say that (if everything goes right), I’ll be seeing it on BROADWAY early next year! While that’s exciting, I’m more excited to see the best Boq in the history Boq’s, Etai BenShlomo!

I’m spending this weekend listening to Wicked and prepping my NaNoWriMo novel (:

It’s officially Fall!

According to the calender, the first day of Fall was yesterday. Even though yesterday was 90°. Today it’s 68° and a lot more comfortable! I love the crisp smell and feel of the air when it’s Fall, the color changing leaves and getting ready for Halloween! I use to hate Halloween. As in, I wouldn’t go out at all or acknowledge the fact it was Halloween. I mean, I don’t really go out now, unless it’s to Trick or Treat (hey, free candy? Why not?) but I love getting ready for it. The pumpkins, the crafts, the baking, all the fun stuff! This year I’m going to glitter some pumpkins, make some witch hats (cause I love witch hats) and maybe attempt to bake something that isn’t out of a box!

And also, the best part of prepping for Halloween? Compiling a list of spooky YA books as a challenge for the whole month of October! Then I usually host a giveaway on my book blog of a few of the books I read along with some other Halloween goodies :). This is much easier to do for Halloween than it is for Christmas lol.

Speaking of books…

I’ve been really into discovering self published books. Mostly because they’re free or under $2.

I read Amanda Hocking‘s blog post last night about her adventures in self publishing, and I’ve always been curious. I know being published with a big publisher is pretty hard to do considering they have to go through a whole lot of manuscripts. Who’s to say what you’re writing about is even “in”? It’s an industry just like anything else and there are plenty of reasons for you to receive that rejection letter that kills you a little bit each time. But of course there are other reasons to try; you won’t have to worry about making your own book covers and knowing that a publisher really likes your work!

I’m participating in NaNoWriMo again this year, and I’m hoping to win this time! But this year I’ll be writing a middle grade book instead of young adult. Mostly because I feel like with writing a young adult novel, it’s expected to have romance and lately there have been a lot of love triangles, which I kinda really hate. I could take a chance and write a young adult novel with almost no romance but I don’t know… maybe after I rough draft the outline I’ll decide then.

Also, I’m obsessed with Castle Crashers. Best game EVER!

Fall is right around the corner…!

And that always gets me excited!

I have a few projects that I hope to start… and complete this season. Because for some reason I like being crafty during the Fall/Winter. I guess there’s just more to work with and hello, they’re my favorite seasons!

So I was browsing around Michael’s looking for a new hobby to pick up and to get some decors they had for Halloween… like the cute purple pumpkins with black leaves. So while I was looking for ribbon my husband handed me a crochet set and some yarn and said I should give it a try. So, why not. This is what my project prepping from yesterday looked like…

Buuuut…. today, I was curious about how to make those little cute top hats cause I got one from Disneyland that I really like and whenever I go top hat shopping there’s never really anything good… so I looked it up and it’s a lot easier than I thought it would be! So I looked up how to make mini witch hats too (I have a slight obsession with witch hat) and they looked pretty easy as well. Brought it up with husband and he said I can go ahead and attempt to make them… if I finish off my yarn. Booo. But I get what he means… I always start stuff and don’t finish it…

In addition to being all excited for the holidays and getting back into crafting; I’ve started a new blog about couponing. I know it’s like this big huge craze right now but I’m not really doing it because of that, I’m doing it because 1) I’m broke and 2) I’m curious to see if this will really save me money. Coupons are odd to me, like you save $.50 or you save $1 off something that’s $7. I mean, I guess if you’re buying a crap ton of things that would add up, but if you’re like me and you’re just buying one or two of the items, it hardly seems worth it. From what I hear, people try to line up coupons and special deals. So I’m curious to see if this really works.

Lately I’ve been having insane cravings for fruit and veggies. Like insane. Like, hand me some raw cauliflower to snack on. And I never really liked cauliflower until recently. Moving back home and not having my fruit and veggie packs are driving me mad. I went to Whole Foods yesterday to get some chips, granola and pretzel sticks to snack on but I still need my fruits and veggies! I can’t find any of the Mr. Giant cauliflower frozen snack packs like I found in Florida. So I settled for broccoli.

I’m trying to get back into review blogging and book blogging again… I know this is a lot to start all at once… but haven’t I always been like that? ;]
