So the other night, I was checking my email on yahoo and I got a Trojan notice from Kaspersky so I delete it, like usual and I thought that was that. But when I checked the list of events, it wasnt there. So I scanned it that night and it showed up clear.

I turn on my desktop yesterday night and this weird thing pops up saying that I have infected files and this thing called AntiVirusLive pops up saying its scanning my PC. I’ve never seen this before and it looks a big generic, so I “cancel the scan”. I look it up and the AntiVirusLive is part of the Trojan.

The Trojan is called FakeSpyPro. What it does is trick you into thinking all of your files are infected and pops up with a fake anti virus that they try to get you to buy and download. It also hijacks your Internet Explorer so that only site you can view is theirs.

Like I said, Kaspersky didnt detect it. Someone mentioned to use MRT on Windows (Malware Removal Tool) so I ran that scan last night and it didnt find anything. Other sites said to download a Malware program and scan it with that, so since nothing else found it, I downloaded the program and ran the scan this morning. It’s still scanning, and so far it’s found 4 infected files (dont worry, I’m blogging on my super slow laptop right now).

I’m so frustrated right now, I hate dealing with viruses and all this other technical computer stuff. I just wanna be able to browse the internet and blog and that’s it! Goodness.

I’m thinking of letting go of my yahoo emails. Gmail obviously doesnt have any ad’s that could carry a virus (someone in one of the sites mentioned they think the virus came from a banner ad on the site he was on). And Gmail doesnt delete your account after 3 months of inactivity either!

I’m hoping I get rid of this virus today. I’m so sad.
