Aches && Anxiety.

I had a pretty good day today.

We checked out the new Walgreens and it’s huuuuge. It also has the new Walgreens layout which is amazing when it came to the beauty section. Everything was so much easier to find! They had a soft opening but man, I’m impressed! I just wish they had more Wet N’ Wild products. Maybe when they have their grand opening they will. Either way, I found the Wet N’ Wild nail polishes I’ve been trying to track down for a week now. They had every color there (which was a bit hard to resist), I ended up only getting the 3 I really wanted. I’ll be back next week to see if the holiday sets will be in. Husband and I also grabbed some boxed movie candy, 3 for $3, why not. I got my Tootsie Pop drops and had him pick some out since that’s all I really wanted. Wish they made Cherryheads in the big boxes!

After that husband and I headed to get some lunch. He got Chipotle (of course) and I got Panera Bread. Then we walked over to GameStop and I reserved Mario 3D for him (to get the raccoon Mario key chain of course!) then over to B&N. I didn’t get anything. Books are so over priced everywhere else compared to Amazon. We’re in a recession! Wait, are we still in a recession? Either way…

10-10-10

Happy 10-10-10!

Husband is watching Good Will Hunting. I’ve never seen it but every time he watches a movie, I get distracted. And he’s been watching movies all. week. long. So I’m hoping I don’t lose my train of thought… then again I don’t really have one right now, whoo!

Today was spent eating Todai (oh how it’s gone downhill), running around the mall and B&N to find things for my Spooky Swap partner. I hope she likes the things I got her, the candy part was a bit frustrating since everything I thought of was things she didn’t want. Other than that, nothing else too interesting happened.

My husband thought it would be a good idea to put Boq’s cardboard tube into his wheel last night… which caused him to hop around. I didn’t know he was scared of it! And after husband finally took it out of his wheel, he slept in his wheel the rest of the night. Poor Boq, dummy husband! We also discovered the secrets to poaching an egg last night. Just a thought… toast doesn’t substitute english muffins as good as you’d think.

Lately I’ve been incredibly addicted to Wendy’s baked potatoes. Yum.

Confessions of a… readaholic?

When I was little, I was obsessed with reading and when I got a little bit older, writing. I have always been a pretty fast reader and I’ve always enjoyed reading books (I always thought I got it from my mom, she’s as much of a bookworm as I am… or rather, I’m as much as she is… whatever), so much in fact that at a few points of my life, reading books for pleasure has gotten in the way of my studies.

To be honest, the only school issued book you can stick in front of me that may tempt me to read it over a book of my choice is a History book. As much as I love reading, I absolutely love History as well. Historical Fiction? My idea of heaven!

In high school, when I got kicked out and started going to Peoples, I started reading books again. So as soon as I was done with my work, I’d pull out a book or my notebook and write if I wasn’t reading. In fact, most of them when I pulled out either a book or my journal, was the time that Martin was most likely to bother me. He knew I was concentrating on something and would constantly bother me! It drove me crazy! But honestly, I think I did it more often than I normally would because I liked his attention :)

Over the last few years, I haven’t had much time to read. And I regretted it. I missed reading. Between summer of 2008 (when I left Six Flags) and recently, the only books I read were the Twilight series. I seriously didn’t have time to read, but I bought a lot of books within that time.

Up until recently, I started reading again. I don’t have a lot of time to play video games (or patience) and I wanted to get my To-Be-Read pile down and I discovered Sweep. So, I started reading again and I stumbled on a whole blogger community FULL of book bloggers! Imagine my excitement!

Which brings me to the point of this entry… I hate to admit this but, reading books has once again gotten in the way of my studies. Instead of doing homework, I sit here reading my books, browsing blogger book blogs, on goodreads.com… now that I’m older, it’s up to me to focus on what’s more important. My mom can’t yell at me for not doing my homework anymore, I’m on my own. And that’s what makes this so much more harder! I suck at making the right decisions!

Side note: I think it’s funny that still to this day, Martin usually bothers me when I pull out a book. But instead of poking and asking me random questions, he’s hugging and kissing me and trying to catch my attention lol!

Admitting these problems to Martin is going to force me to make some changes I won’t like. My mom may not be able to yell at me anymore, but my husband is much harder to defy than my mother was!

Panera Bread!

I’m at Panera Bread hoping for some quiet time. Which isnt really… quiet. But its empty for a rainy day (is it just me or is Panera always packed on rainy days?) and the classical music playing and the faint sound of blenders is… relaxing.

I forgot how much I love the camera on my pink Aspire One laptop! I’ve had this hid away for over a year now because the battery died out and Fry’s told me it would cost over $100 to get a backup. I only realized after Martin left for Basic that I could get a backup battery on Amazon for $68! Damn you Fry’s!

Speaking of, 3 military people walked in today. Two were USAF, I couldnt help but whimper because I want my own set of ABU’s. And one day, I will :).

It was storming this morning. Well into the early afternoon. But it literally sounded like sheets of rain just flying to my window. It was insane and it kept me up all night. Goodness. Martin called randomly asking if I was okay and if the rain was keeping me up… how does he know these things?! lol. Have I mentioned how much more aware of my discomforts he’s been since we got married? Every small thing he jumps up wondering if I’m okay and what he can do to make me feel better. He’s amazing.

Like right now, he’s sitting next to me playing his DSi quietly and letting me get some work done on my laptop. Not even complaining that we’ve been here for nearly two hours. How did I get so lucky :).

Oh also, we saw lightning while we were on the freeway! I was so excited! I love lightning. I got to see it twice on the way here :)!

Wicked Day!

Let me start with the other day.

I attempted to make my first ever Egg Salad Sandwich. I dont know how to boil eggs. I bake, not cook! So me and Martin were trying to figure out how to boil an egg and this conversation came about:

Martin: You have to turn it up, all the way up
Me: But then the water is going to boil!
Martin: Well it is called a hard boiled egg!

Well, you have a point my dear husband but I dont think they literally mean the water has to boil that much. And of course, one of our egg’s popped. Goodness.

In the end, all the eggs were perfectly boiled and the Egg Salad Sandwich mission was a success. I paired it with my favorite homemade salad drenched in Zesty Italian dressing, yum!

I added chopped olives and bacon to the sandwich thinking it was going to be epic, but you could barely taste it. I blame the mayo!

It’s been really windy at night lately around here (and foggy). And really windy nights scare me :(

I spent the night eating another bowl of salad on my laptop. I was tempted to read more of my book, but I didnt. Husband was next to me playing Mafia Wars on Facebook. Pffft.

Yesterday was Wicked Day!!!

I went to see Wicked yesterday with my sister in law and my husband :) we got there early this time! Last time and Martin went we had 2 minutes to get to our seats so we made sure to leave super early this time!

And we found Stage Door, yay!

Vicki Noon wasnt playing Elphaba. I was bummed about that, but I really liked Angel Reda as Elphaba too! Tim was also playing Dr. Dillamond instead of Tom (which I found out today that tonight’s show was Tom’s last performance). There was also a different person playing the Wizard, over all I did enjoy the show. As I always do :)

After the show me and Marissa ran down to Stage Door and there was already a bunch of people there! I got Eddy (who plays Boq) to sign my PlayBill. He has a really really nice smile and he’s a cutie! I also got Tim to sign it. Then came Nicolas Dromard! I was so excited haha! He signed my PlayBill and I mentioned I was Marie and introduced my husband to him. Talked to him for a bit and got another picture :).

Then Angel Reda came out! She came out quick too, I heard normally Elphaba’s take awhile to come out since they have to shower. But she came out, wet hair and all to sign PlayBill’s and take pictures and say hi. Then she went back in. I thought that was really cool of her to come out and say hi to us. She was really really nice too!

Wicked’s one year anniversary here is coming up this month I believe. I wonder if they have anything special planned. I’m trying to know ahead of time so I can go. I’m hoping to go see Wicked again next month, and in March for my birthday :)

I had a good day with my husband and sister in law! We ended up spending the rest of the day in Emeryville. I got my moleskins finally! I told you husband *sticks out tongue*.

Spent today updating blogs and trying to tidy up my room. I cleared out one area of my room, whew, that alone made me feel accomplished lol!
